It’s okay to be different

You’re not like everyone else.

You want something different.  You want something bigger, bolder, and way off the beaten path.

Your wants and needs feel indulgent, crazy, and you feel like no one is going to get it.

I want you to know that I get it. It’s ok to be different.

I get that it’s scary to choose a path that no one understands, or your family doesn’t support, or that makes people raise their eyebrows.

I get that you question your desires because in your mind, there must be something wrong with what you’re craving if no one else wants it.

I get this because I’ve been where you are.

I’ve spent my entire life feeling a little different, weird, or a little “off”.

I always knew that there was more for me in this world than what most other people settled for.

I was never interested in following the “right” path.

I was never interested in playing small.

I’ve never waited for someone to understand my vision - hell, sometimes I don’t even understand it myself.

But I go with it because I trust myself, the universe, and my intuition to guide my way.

So here’s my message to you, my iconoclast:

You don’t have to follow the “right” path.

You don’t have to do the “status quo”.

You don’t have to wait for someone to understand you - you can show them the way.

You don’t even have to know the end goal - you can just start chasing something, and see where your intuition takes you.

How would you feel at the end of your life if you never chased your big goals? Would you feel disappointed? Frustrated? Angry?

How do you want to feel when you reflect back on your life? What do you need to do to make this a reality?

Reflect on those questions today - what changes do you need to make to your life to feel good about it at the end of the day?
